hoping some one can help me i have just downloaded a copy full copy of xp pro with sp2 but it will not boot how can i get it to boot hoping spme boady can help me out thank u

hi michael535. could you please try this...

you have to change your bios configuration so that the system reads your CD/DVD drive first. (default is it reads your hard disk first). to change your bios, reboot. at this point, keep pressing the “delete key” until bios comes out...don’t let your operating system start up. look into each menu (think it’s the 2nd). then look at sub-menus (think it’s also the second). make CD/DVD your first option, followed by HD, then floppy. save the config (F10-save and exit).

make sure your CD copy is inside the CD/DVD drive. reboot. when your PC starts, it will read the CD/DVD drive first. if you have a good copy of winXP, it will start “setup”
