Someone please help me out with the codec VP6 for avi files!!!!

I’ve just downloaded some really amazing music videos of my fouverite band and they’re avi files. The webmaster of the site I downloaded the videos from says that I’ll need the codec VP6 to play these files. I’ve searched for the codec VP6 and there’re plenty of them. But after installing the package, I still can’t play these files. In fact, my Window Media player plays them, but there’s no sound. It only plays the images. I’m Vietnamese so my English is really bad, but I hope I can make you all understand my problem. Please help me. And I’m a newbie also so please explain it in the easiest way for me to understand. Thank you guy so much.
