L4stExil3 Guest | Well, Just so everyone knows the program listed above seperates the video(wmv or avi) and the audio(ogg) and only really converts the ogg. During this process the subtitles are taken off and thrown away. Basiclly you can’t fix it that i’m aware of on that program. You can try copying the program and messing with it yourself if you know that stuff but I can’t figure it out.

marker Guest | tell me if i’m wrong
you should convert .ogm files to avi files first right? then you can edit it right?

renzo Guest | sakuya, the problem with your program is that one has to reencode the video again!
can you add an option to leave the video as in the original ogm or mkv? [useful for divx xvid...] (then we wont' loose quality)!

renzo Guest | anyway, a GREAT solution is this one, with VirtualDubMod:
from here: http://forums.3ivx.com/index.php?showtopic=85723
“Assuming you got the right vfw codecs to decode the audio inside the ogm file and the video stream can be packed into an avi, you could try this:
1. open ogm in Virtual Dub mod
2. set Video to Direct Stream Copy
3. Streams->Stream list-> disable the audio you don’t want
4. right click on the audio stream you want to keap -> full processing mode
5. right click on the audio stream you want to keap -> compression -> select the audio compression that you want (you might have to install LAME ACM if you want mp3 and only got the standard installed mp3 codec)
6. File->Save as avi -> Save file under a new name
Cu Selur"

MayhemMechanix Guest | To the person insisting that we use AlltoAVI... the audio track is WAY off from the video. Anyone got suggestions on that little tidbit of information?

MayhemMechanix Guest | Renzo, your steps did NOT work. no audio whatsoever.

MayhemMechanix Guest | Newp. no joy. Closed everything and restarted, even reinstalled LAM ACM when I select Save as... and create my AVI, it tells me Audio Data= 0

anime4life Guest | Get the WinAVI! converts everything! but be sure to get the Combined Community Codec Pack to ensure the codecs are in especially the Divx Codecs too!

Tetsuro Guest | if i whant an avi out of an ogm i rip the audio off
with virtul dub then with an audio converter i change its format to Wave thats virtual dub most compactible audio format
after that u can rip the video aswell using virtualdub mode offcourse
remenber one thing though ogm and mkv formats can storage Ace3 5.1 sound when u attemp to rip it if the sound is 5.1
u are ruining its quality too 2.0 That is Stereo or
Dolby Digital ... and riping after riping u are decreasing the image quality of it
so if u whant to maintain the quality of ur ogm or mkv file
u might aswell transforming it to a DVD or a HD DVD
since an ogm and a mkv can have High Definition quality

Changing the extension from .ogm to .avi doesn’t do a thing. Windows media player (or what have you) will recognize the content and play it regardless. If you stick that into a standalone divx/dvd player, you just wasted a cd. OGM format is basically a divx encoded vide with ogg encoded audio. Bsically, ogg compresses the audio alot further then mp3 can, making more room for the video file = slightly better video quality. Hope this cleared stuff up.
your retarted... ogg dosent convert any smaller than the most common audio types.. the true purpos of ogm, is to that you can have multipul streams of audio and/or subtitles for one stream of video...
