neiz Guest | I’m using ogmtoavi-alpha-0.0.1 currently. Happy with it cos it is simple and fast BUT i can’t seem to choose the DUB. The default is set to 1 (English). Is there anyway I can set the DUB to 2 instead?
Please mail me at phrantix@hotmail.com if anyone knows how to do it or just post it here.

ME Guest | I got it working again... So I have discovered that WinAvi works but you also need the Divx 6.Codec to make it work... You need the Divx 6 Create Bundel and win AVI 6.3... you will also need to change the settings in the advanced slot of winAVI to make the sound transfer over with Quality I just Raised both of the settings to the Highest Numbers...

crossout Guest | with the WinAvi are u able to insert your selection of subtitles wit languages into the conversion?
| |
| 07 Aug 2005 09:20 am |
ME Guest | I am not sure... I have no experience using sub-titles But you can use it as a stepping stone by at least converting it to a more readily usable format... To use with other programs you can convert again from avi format if you like to mpg format using TMPGEnc but you may also have to decompress the Audio using Audio decompressor before converting to mpg or you can also use WinAvi’s many other features for conversions...

cox Guest | Hi everyone, I have a file with .ogm extension too, and I Use the VirtualDubMod_1_5_10_1 Program to extract the avi data, but the problem is that is no sound in the movie. Any idea? . Thanks a lot anyway.

Ibsen Guest | After browsing forums for hours, I’m so frustrated I could kill. Why can’t somebody just answer the simple question, “how do I add sound when converting an ogg file to avi with VirtualDubMod?" I’ve spent hours and hours trying to find the answer and nothing makes any sense whatsoever.
I have been directed to an earlier version of VirtualDubMod that had an audio config window but it lacked some vital part of the program or something. Surely there is someone who knows how to do this. I realise everyone is just here to help out but a lot of the time, I just think people are taking the p£%*!
It’s a simple question. Most people who post here know next to nothing about this stuff.

Griffter Guest | for u virtdubmod users tryin to add sound into ur avi’s...let me guess u open the .ogm, mpeg or whatever file ur workin with and when u hit save as, a few minutes go by and u think the avi is good but when u play it it doesnt have any sound, right!
ok i ran into this problem b4 and i found that this method works so far
1.open ur movie file (mepg, ogm whatever)
*note ogm files only work in virtualdubmod, not in virtualdub*
2.click on “streams” then select “stream list” (new window pops with 1 or 2 or 3 (or how ever many audio streams r in the movie file) streams of audio
3.select first stream (will turn into a dark grey background) and hit save wav
4. name the wav and where to save it
5. select the next stream when the first is done and hit save wav and again name the wav and where to save it to.
6.repeat till all audio streams r wav’s
7.in the same window (stream window) double click the original streams (the will have “cross hatch” marks over them like this /////), this will disable the stream.
8.click add (upper right corner under “ok”
9.select the wav files u just created and hit ok till all the wav files r added to ur stream list (if u got duo audio like english and japenese u should have 4 streams on this window, 2 shaded out and 2 wav’s)
10.right click on the first wav file and select “full processing”
11.right click again on the fist wav file and select compression
12.new window pops, select compression type (i normally use lame mp3 48khz or 44.1khz 128kbps)
13.do the same for the second audio track (make sure both audio tracks r on full compression and both r usin the same compression and compression rate)
14.hit ok to get out of the stream window
15.click video select full processin and compression type or skip to step 16
16.click file then select save as, new window pops on the bottom of this window notice it has a “video” box with video mode and type of compression virtualdubmod will recode this file into, choose ur compression (i normally use divx 4 fast motion)
17.name the file and choose where to save the file
18.if u wanna run this in BATCH MODE, under save as type check the box that says DONT RUN THIS JOB NOW; ADD IT TO JOB CONTROL SO I CAN RUN IT IN BATCH MODE
*to get batch mode job control up hit f4 and then hit run and will process all jobs if there r errors in a single file virtdubmod will skip the file and continue till all jobs r done but will not go back and try to rerun the files with errors*
19.hit save and wait a few hours.
SUBTITLES — virtualdubmod and virtualdub will add perm sub within the film (cant select with dvd remote, it will be part of the movie) go here and download the filters and unazip them into ur virtualdub filters folder http://www.virtualdub.org/virtualdub_filters
if u want to add selectable subs to ur movie (where u hit subtitle button on ur dvd remote and subtitles will pop up on screen) download this software http://www.trustfm.net/divx/SoftwareAvi2Dvd.html
*check near the bottom of the page*
1.click “step1 input”
2.click load avi, ogm, mkv new window pops select the avi u just made from virtualdubmod and hit ok
3.might take a second to figure out the codecs u used to create the avi but it should auto tell u what the aspect ratio (16:9 or 4:3) the file was rendered in and it should auto load the audio stream(s)
4.click “step 2 output” select dvd/svcd or vcd (disk size will vary depending on what type u select)
5.select the aspect ratio u want the movie to be in (16:9 or 4:3) also select make iso ***note u will burn the final iso to disk that avi2dvd outputs if u dont wanna author the dvd*** if u choose to
6.check pal to ntsc and vise versa ***only if u r convertin the file to ur loaction i.e. american movie and u live in europe check the box ntsc to pal***
7.select where to save the file ***will auto make a seperate folder with the logs and besweet audio stuff in it and another folder inside that folder with the vts_audio and vts_video folders with ur vob, ifo, bup files
8. click “step3 encoders” and choose ur encoders and how many passes u want the software to do (the more passes the longer it takes but the higher the quality the movie)
9.click “step9 subtitles” click subtitle 1 and select ur subtitle u want to encode into ur movie
***note avi2dvd will only look for .txt or .srt files, if u have .ssa or some other type just open the file in wordpad and save as a .txt file so avi2dvd will recognize it***
10.click options sub1 and set character set, language, font type and size
11.repeat till ur subs r in ***notice that ur max subs is 3 different subs and use “options sub2” for subtitle 2 and “options sub3” for subtitle 3***
12.CLICK ADD JOB this will send the job to the JOB QUEUE aka BATCH LIST, once the job is in the job queue click GO!!! to start the renderin process. if u have more then 1 job in the queue avi2dvd will start the next job when the previous job is done.
13.when the rendering is done, locate the iso file and burn that to ur dvd/svcd/vcd or take the vob files and throw that into nero and create title menu and chapter menus then burn it to disk
almost forgot u can create chapters with avi2dvd auto or manually, if u manually wanna do that know that avi2dvd will add chapters via SECONDS and we all know that there r 60 seconds in every minute so we can figure out the rest on our own.
hope fully this will help all out there lookin for answers that r hard to find, trust me i know i looked and had to learn the hard way lol

AVi Method Guest | Quick and easy;
THE AVI METHODE:
Start VirtualDubMod (VDM).
Load Your MKV-file.
Go to 'Streams\Streamlist'
Mark the Audiofile and click on 'Demux'.
Go to 'Video\Direct Stream Copy'
Go to 'File\Save As...'
Choose the AVI Container and hit Save.
So You have a AVI without a Audio and the audiofile.
If you want the Audio into the container reopen VDM (if You closed it...)
Open the AVI.
Go to 'Streams\Streamlist'
Click on 'Add'.
Choose the Audiofile.
If the Audiostream was OGG, You must reencode it in MP3 or some other format which is supported by the AVI-Container.
Click 'Ok'.
Save again the AVI using 'File\Save As...' or press 'F4'.

Baelzebub Guest | Hey all,

The video starts and plays for about 6 or 7 seconds then quits on my standalone (Toshiba SD-4980SU) But other divx files i have that i have burnt run just fine? Any ideas?
Great proggy other than this little hiccup

Baelzebub Guest | Just converted same OGM file using Virtual dubmod and goldwave to conert audio to mp3 to put in the avi file and it works fine. Maybe the divx codec in ogmtoavi? Used Divx4 fast motion in Vdub. Bad part is it took 4 times as long and i have 109 eps of YYH to do...not counting the DBZ Any way to i can use a different Divx codec to encode with ogmtoavi ?
