I wanted to convert some PAL moives over to NTSC. I had no idea how to do this however so I downloaded a “Huge Video Editing Software” torrent to see if it had anything that would do it for me. I downloaded it and tried out a few programs such as MainConcept MPEG Encoder, DVD to VCD AVI DivX, Power Video Converter Pro, WinMPEG Video Convert and WinAVI Video Converter 6.0. After I tried these programs out (with litle success, probably because of my ignorance with such software) I cant seem to play any videos on my computer that I could before. I uninstalled DivX and reinstalled it, and same with the XVID codec, as well as re-downloading Windows Media Player and installing it again with no luck.
I can play streaming movies, but using Realplayer, WMP10, and Divx 6.0 is impossible. I think one or more of those programs screwed up my pc but I dont know how.
Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated.
