hello Guest | WMP can’t open them-does DIVX player? if they don’t open I would say corrupt or bullshit files-if they were from p2p downloads they are probably fakes or BS files maybe virtuadub to see if you can repair/reformat media- i doubt it if WMV doesn’t open it.

Sassi Guest | Hi .. Thanx for the reply Frightfo0. I ran GSpot and got the following msgs.
Commetns/MetaData
Code Name Contents
Junk Ascii in junk chunx Virtual Dub bld 13870
Junk release
I clicked RENDER button :
Direct Show claims to be able to play the file. The following combinations of filters were used:
Avi Splitter (video Pre-Processor)
Divx Decoder Filter (Video Decoder )
Video Renderer (Video Renderer)
I have Windows Media Player 9 it wont play the file nor will Divx Player 2.5.3
I dont know what all this means.
The file is junk then yes ?
Signed confused as hell
LOL

Darth Wrath Guest | I have found a glossary of formats used at
www.afterdawn.com/glossary they said telecine is made from directly copying the film from the reel.

Luciano Guest | Hi, I had a file that couldn´t play so I searched for info on internet. Then I found the solution here:
http://www.videohelp.com/faq
This page contains a lot of help which took me to ´Avicodec´ soft:
http://avicodec.duby.info/ftp/avicod11.exe
Just run ´Avicodec´ and open your file, it will identify the file´s video and audio codecs needed to play it.
Then, still inside ´Avicodec´, click on ´codecs & filters´. There you´ll see all the codecs installed on your computer, so check if yo have installed the codec identified before.
In my case the problem file was a Telecine encoded .mpg that needed de mpeg-2 codec, then I just had to look for it. And after installing it, I was watching the video without problems.
Hope this can help you and my english was clear enough.
Luciano
