Hi everybody. I’m using a video codec on my computer (have no idea where it came from) for editing and want to install it on my notebook also. I used Gspot to see where the files were located and copied them over, but that doesn’t work. Does anyone know how to copy the codecs over?

Adding new codecs involves more than just copying files. You need to put the right information in the registry for when the player reads the video, it knows where to look for the files.
The simplest way (in my opinion) is to get the installer for the codec (if you can). If you tell us which codec it is, or perhaps the identifying fourcc, we could tell you where to get it.
Otherwise you’ll have to set the registry information manually.
(If you’re an advanced user you can look up one of my early posts on the topic of installing codecs manually here http://www.moviecodec.com/topics/2545p1.html )

Thanks for the tip. I’ll try adding it manually.
