I upgraded to Nero 6 Ultra Edition burning program and discovered Nero Recode2 (a MPEG-4 encoder) came bundled with it. I really like the quality of the MPEG-4 show that it creates, but it is not playable by Windows Media Player unless Nero 6 Ultra is installed on the computer. I imagine this means that they are using their own codec. When I try and get support from Nero they only will respond that you need Nero Showtime (their player) and it is not availble unless you download and purchase Nero 6 Ultra Edition.
Any idea how I find out what codec was installed on my computer by Nero and any suggestions on how I can copy it to a non-Nero machine?
Thanx!
I don’t really know, but I would guess that Media Player Classic might support playback of Nero’s MPEG4 based stuff. Don’t quote me on that though. I’m yet to have a look at Nero Recode/2.
