Hi,

I am using adobe premiere 1.0 and I am editing an MPEG movie. If I play the movie from the top left it plays fine. If I drag the movie down to the timeline it plays really fast and the music is still slow. Does anyone have any ideas why this may be doing this??

It appears you might have dropped frame.
Try renderinh the video and also try upgrading your premiere to 6.5
