Help with a divx burning onto dvd question

I am sure this has been answered tons of times before
I have a divx movie that was split in half as to make it fit onto 2 cdrs. It is a french film with no subs. I found a .srt subtitle for it but it is 1 file not 2. I used avijoiner to join the 2 avi files to play it continuously with the sub file. Movie plays fine on the computer with the sub file. I tried to burn it onto dvd to play on my oppo player. It plays the movie and the sub file fine but there is no audio. Any ideas on how to make this work would be greatly appreciated.

i dont know the first thing about burning movies i download 2 put them on dvd so if some 1 can give me step by step of what i need 2 download or buy /only thing i have is blank dvds 8 and 16 speeds dvd burner so please help me thank u
