no sound on movie

I have just downloaded a movie but when I played it back there was no sound although the picture quality was very good.It is a avi file with the following abbreviations nt.hdrip.xvd.Can someone help.

Get VideoInspector. It’s a good program that will tell you what audio codec the file needs to run. To lazy to fetch the link though, google it or something.
