Tried to extract a *.dat file from a program to use elsewhere. File is listed only as dict2 with Video cd movie under the name. When in properties, only shows Video CD Movie as file type. Can’t rename because it won’t show full file name with .bat extension, so when I rename it comes out dict2.bat.mpg. Windows Media Player says it doesn’t recognize format or the player doesn’t recognize the codec used to compress the file. When using the application where the file is located however, the file plays on the computer. I’ve tried VLC media player and VCDgear to no avail. Any ideas?
