mp4amv wrote: Hi All

Please download MP3 Player Utilities - find it on www.mympxplayer.org. The only video format supported is AMV. Forget Mpeg4, it wont play it. I just converted a file into amv, looks ok, but not as great as on my ipod. Nevertheless, for this gadget cool enough.

The software mentioned above also allows you to play your converted and downloaded amv files on your pc.

Hi, my sony mp4 player has generated some junk files which i m not able to delete. i m using window XP. even cant delete it. It has created folders in folder with same names & also files naming USBSû┼ü, USBS8╚╟ü. These files show 0 kbs but i m able to use only 300 kb space for songs. When you plug the USB cord in does a pop up come up on your screen? if so, go to open folder to view files, and you can drag your songs onto it that way. Otherwise under control panel, go to add new hardware and follow the instructions.
Hope I helped.

I have 976mb memory mp4 player
i converted a .avi to a amv and i can open the movie and play it.. but after like 10 seconds the screen freezes.. but the player stil shows 0:30...0:31...0:32...0:33 and so on so i know its still playing..
and that first 10 seconds there was no audio also
do i need to download a audio codec for it? and if i do wil it mess up being able to listen to my songs...?

me and my 2 sisters all got a mp4 digital player for christmas
my sister decides to install the windows media player...
big mistake it is the chinese verison.. and all my movies i had on my comp started to not work...
we have Divx player and windows media Player newest version well my movies were all divx files.. so i had those audio codecs.. but once she installed the Chinese WindowsMediaPlayer they al stopped working.. so it took me a full day to get em back to how they were...
Heres what i did...i followed this ..
http://www.free-codecs.com/guides/How_to_install_default_codecs_in_Windows_XP_2000.htm
I went into control panel, installed new hardware blah blah blahi followed al the step.. all i did was the microsoft adpcm codec not the other...
and i reset and presto.. all my movies were fixed.. i could play them and they all have audio...
i then downloaded mp3 player utilities(prolly same thing on my little mini disc thingy i can get to run since my cd player is broken)
I ran avm converter on the divxmovie and presto.. i now have it installed on my mp4 player and it plays the whole movie with sound also..
my favorite part is it shrunk in mb size(700mb’s to 148mb’s) considerably which is good since i only have 970some mbs on my player..
since it has to be smaller in size and be of less quality.. its no big deal anyways....

Now i have 1 more problem.. my players avm section has no sound.. when i used the volume button it only went down not up...and like a dummy i continued to push it til it had 0 volume with no way of raising it back up
only in the avm section tho other sections(music, recording, voice)the volume goes up and down normally

how do i fix this.. i stil have the movie in avm form on my comp and the other files I can restore later
So do I have to do a firmware restore or whatever its called
i am scared to lose storage space.. as i read that so many oppl are losing space when they do that.. i know some ppl are probably accidently partitioning the memory ...its a function so you can use half the space and keep the other half password protected..thats onyl on a reformat tho
