Movies are usually 700MB+, and converting them to a .mtv nearly triples the size... Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Natasha Martin Guest | convert them to AMV format with mp3 Utilities v3.06. They are alot smaller.
you will need to have the k-lite codec pack installed too.

Entree Rep: 0 Joined: 08 Jan 2006 Posts: 6 OFFLINE | well i know amv are alot smaller, but i need the exact firmware for my player, im guessing my player is type b since it has a joystick on the front... but i want to make sure of that.. and if i get the s1fwx, there is an extract file, which extracts the files from your mp3, but how do i add them back? just making sure before actually making adjustments. Thanks. Besides what is the k-lite codec pack?

Kevin Armstrong Guest | When you get your player, check what files are already on there (.MTV or .AMV).
.MTV video files are much larger because it doesn’t use video compression.
.AMV uses video compression so are smaller in size.
Converting a 700MB DivX movie into .AMV with 128x96 screen size, the file was reduced to 198MB which is very nice esp when u only have 1 Gig to play around with.
Try the using the 3.68 AMV Converting software from http://www.mympxplayer.com for that.
Thanks. | |
