Leaves Guest | Hi, i have the following two drives connected to my pc:
Sony DVD RW DW-D22A
HL-DT-ST RW/DVD GCC-4481B
I have been using them quite happily for well over a year now when they both suddenly stopped working.
When i try to burn a disc they will both begin quite happily but they will fail to burn before they even reach the halfway mark.
Example: i recently tried to burn an audio disc with 18 tracks, burnt the first two tracks and then came to a halt. I put it in a CD player and tracks 1 & 2 played with no problems but the others jus refused to budge. The CD player knew there were 18 tracks on the CD yet only 2 were playable.
Please help me, I have tried burning data discs awell but have come to the same problem. I have used different software (including windows' built in burning software application) and all come to an “unknown error”. The only software that produces an error code is iTunes (“Unknown Error (4200)"
Thankyou | |

Marcus Aurelius Guest | Your burner is a LiteOn ( 1633S or 1653) made for Sony and the firmware ( BFS1) is not available on either sites Sony (with the bigest morons in support area) or in LiteOn. Check this and try to update your Click to DVD : http://esupport.sony.com/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=VGCRA830G&UpdateType=Updates
Also this site has a lot about burners so check it out: http://www.cdfreaks.com/
If you’ve removed Click to DVD better use the recovery application from Sony and reinstall it and apply the update after that. I hate this burner, my Pioneer 108 never gave me problem.

Dan Root Guest | Hey everyone, I have been having the exact same problem as all of you. My burner worked fine and then suddenly it stopped burning for no apparent reason.
Until now..
The last post is correct, I have a Lite-On burner, and apparently everyone else with this problem does as well.
I went to lite-on’s website (link below)
http://us.liteonit.com/us/index.php?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=153
Selected: Optical Storage
Found my model, which happened to be the SOHC 5253K
I downloaded the firmware update, installed....then restarted.
I went into my iTunes, and burned a CD without a problem.
Hope this helps! | |

iTunesAnnoysMe Guest | I’m having the same problem!!!! But I went to this Lite On website and I couldn’t find my model number. It wasn’t on the system information, nor was it on the actual CD burner itself. Where can I find it? Any suggestions?
