Divx_Fan Guest | "you can just right-click on wherever you have it saved and press delete, it works just as well”
However, it is saved in my registry, isn’t that a bit tricky?

jimilica Guest | I have a problem my self with audio codecs.
With every other aplication I have a perfectly working sound but when it comes to see a movie no player could do it.
Games also are runing well (some) and the problem is not from drivers cause i have run a diagnose and the sound card (hercules) is working just fine.
I’ll try ac3_0_70 like you are saying here but in case it does n’t work can somebody tell me if you encountered this problem?
I’m running Win Xp Sp2
Thanks Guys | |

John Guest | I had the same problem as everyone else, I tried to play a movie with DivX, Media Player, Real player, Quicktime, and DivX told me that Audio Tag 8192 was not supported so I downloaded this .... (http://download.divxmovies.com/ac3codec.zip)
and now not only will it not play the audio, It is interferring with the Video somehow and won’t even open it period. Anyone know what i should do? I searched for all the ac3codec on my cpu. and deleted them(since there appeared to be no uninstall) to try to undo the damage, but it’s still the same, the file can’t be opened now.
HELP!!!! | |

run Guest | Unistall:
The ac3codec.zip contains install.bat which uses REGSVR32 to installs two files into the registry:
%WINDIR%\SYSTEM32\REGSVR32 /s %WINDIR%\SYSTEM\IVIAUDIO.AX > NUL
%WINDIR%\SYSTEM32\REGSVR32 /s %WINDIR%\SYSTEM\MPGAUDIO.AX > NUL
To uninstall, simply replace the "/s” with "/u”. Put these two lines into a batch file and run it:
%WINDIR%\SYSTEM32\REGSVR32 /u %WINDIR%\SYSTEM\IVIAUDIO.AX > NUL
%WINDIR%\SYSTEM32\REGSVR32 /u %WINDIR%\SYSTEM\MPGAUDIO.AX > NUL

wallas Guest | I had the same problem playing the Incredibles. No sound. It kept saying tag 8192. I installed the http://download.divxmovies.com/ac3codec.zip and yes my computer started to crash too. So i uninstalled it.
So what i did was i used GSpot to find out what codec it was using to play the file. It turns out it was using a Nero audio codec to play the audio. So i removed the Nero codec and re-installed the http://download.divxmovies.com/ac3codec.zip file. After that i used GSpot again and rendered the file and it worked perfectly. Yeah Sound! I moved the Nero Codec where it was in the first place and now every movie works good for me.
Hope this helps. | |
