Hey just wanted to say thanks for the site it was very helpful and to where you go to get the download for the audio codec for the audio codec tag 8192 I was getting mad that I couldn’t here it. So the ac3 codec WORKED LIKE A CHAMP!!!!
http://download.divxmovies.com/ac3codec.zip
copy and paste this in your I.E. address bar and it will pop up the file you need. Extract it to a folder to your computer and then click on the Install.bat and your ready to go. I thought i would put this Information in for some one that is real new to all this I hope it helps.

Thank you guy sooooo much for my audio codec on XP system assistance, I downloaded “ac3filter_0_70b”, and when I heard the sound, I was the happiest person in the world.
Special thanks to Mr. Alternative !!!

Unistall:
The ac3codec.zip contains install.bat which uses REGSVR32 to installs two files into the registry:
%WINDIR%SYSTEM32REGSVR32 /s %WINDIR%SYSTEMIVIAUDIO.AX > NUL
%WINDIR%SYSTEM32REGSVR32 /s %WINDIR%SYSTEMMPGAUDIO.AX > NUL
To uninstall, simply replace the "/s” with "/u”. Put these two lines into a batch file and run it:
%WINDIR%SYSTEM32REGSVR32 /u %WINDIR%SYSTEMIVIAUDIO.AX > NUL
%WINDIR%SYSTEM32REGSVR32 /u %WINDIR%SYSTEMMPGAUDIO.AX > NUL

hmmmz...wat does this mean?

Ok....for those of you that Divx was now working and now it isn’t after installing the audio codec. YOU MUST INSTALL THE FILTER. My Divx was crashing and now its perfect. Follow the link that ends with shtml.

I did everything you all said and the audio works but it isn’t syncronizing with the video. I hear everything before I can see what is happening. What should I do?

Wow...

I’m impressed by the number of people who just post without even reading other people’s posts beforehand!!! The answer is on page 1 or 2 and I’m still seing on page nine people posting about the original problem... sorry but that’s kinda lame...

Anyway, I’ve read the whole thread and I believe I found no answer to the “lower-than-normal-sound” problem. Is there a fix for it?? Because I’m having that problem.

Thanks to the guys who’ve given the solution or at least the biggest part of it!

-Gian.

I have a video file. At first it said it could not play the audio to the file because it needed audio data: Tag 8192. The video played just fine.
When I installed the suggested code from http://download.divxmovies.com/ac3codec.zip
divx can no longer play the video. Instead it now freezes and crashes the program and any other program I now attempt to open it with.

Well, So-rry GIAN. But it’s not like I have so much spare time with my life, like you, and would want to read nine pages of posts.
