My Camcorder DV Files Won't Play

I transfered my camcorder video to my computer and nw whenever i go to play them in Windows Media Player It says i need one or more codecs. and when i play it in Realplayer it doesn’t play at all. Can someone please tell me how to fix this.

DV files should not give you such problems. Most media players should play the raw video from a digital video source.

I can only suggest you Gspot the video, to see if it detects a suitable codec on your system. If the file is corrupt, Gspot will not recognize it either. That may indicate that there was a problem during the transfer from the camcorder to your pc.
