Janine Guest | as per #76 post, I have downloaded mp3 files into my mp4 player, but have no idea how to even create different folders as i bought the player in Hong Kong and the instruction book is not clear - all the songs so far appear in one folder called “root” and can not see where i am given a choice of pathway for the files...any ideas?

ceepee1 Guest | I have received MP4 player that uses MVS format. The add on ebay says “Convert JPEG, GIF, SWF Picture Files or else to PIC Files to be viewed by MVS (Software Included)".
My question is how do I convert graphics to mvs. The player will not display JPEG, GIF, SWF or even PIC Files.
Hope someone has solution soon, otherwise player becomes beer coaster
Regards,
Ceepee1

Markarian Guest | I CAN ANSWER SOME QUESTIONS:
First of all, these little Chinese “MP4 Players” are not MPEG players at all. The “MVS” video format is just another name for the same format all these other OLED media players use: Uncompressed RGB bitmaps.
The reason your files are so big and there is no compression is that AVIs and MOVs are compressed using a complex algorithm. The so-called conversion software simply turns the movie files into a series of uncompressed bitmaps synced to MP3 audio. I bought a similar “MP4 Player” that used “DMV” files. The conversion software did NOT work and my boyfriend had to write a program from scratch that DID work (it only works in Linux and needs two other programs just to work). I had a 512MB OLED player that barely held an hour of video.
These players don’t have the expensive chips in them required to decode actual video. The MVS files aren’t encoded at all. They’re raw frames, and even on that tiny screen, they take up enormous amounts of space.

Unfortunately, my MP4 can’t read a MVS Files, just the AMV files. And when I use that AMV converter, it’s bit small on my screen, and there’s only two choices in there. Is there anybody knows where to download or own a AMV converter that can convert for a 1.8 screen? You can email me with this :

Thanks a lot in advance

English MVS convert guide Guest | The name says it all
The top left image that looks like a video camera is to choose what file you want to convert eg video.wmv
Next thing you should do is press the aaa button thing that is on the grey bar below all the pictures on the right hand side.
This selects the where video.mvs will go to.
Now you press the icon next to the videorecorder that looks like a program with arrows on the side. This starts the converion. Note you need to press the file you want to convert first so it turns blue before you press it. A porgress bar should start.
You can now press the bin icon to wipe the files off the convert list.
The spanner icon is options Note the compression is greyed out view previos topics and the globe is help.
Hope this could be of some use.
