Hi,
I’m a newbie here. Don’t hold it against me...
Am in the middle of writing an eLearning program that will use some WMV 9.1 video and WMA 9 audio.
What can I check for on the end-user’s machine to see if the appropriate codecs are there to decode these?
I know that if I look for the wmvdmod.dll and wmadmod.dll, and check the file version, I’m only really getting information about what version of WM Player is installed. Not the codec. A computer could have a WM Player 7, and have the newer codecs installed.
So, how can I check for the codec?

Thanks,
Ariel
