I cannot play the movies that are drm protected. When i try to play the movies i must first type password. The password is correct and then compter start to load the movie. It cannot load the movie and give me this message.
The audio codec identified by the format tag 161 is required to play this file. To determine if this codec is available to download from the Web, click Web Help.

I have downoad reqested codec but i still cannot play it. This is the name of the codec that i have downloaded: DivX ;-) Audio Compressor tag 161 tag 353It.
Movie player allways tells me that he need this audio codec. I have also download WM9Codecs.exe.

I have tried to play movies in WMP7, WMP9 and WMP 10 (in windows xp pro and windows 98 2E)

Please help me.

I know this is an old subject on this board. This site is at the top of the list when I do a google search.

Anyway. I found that several different files left over from a previous install of WMP10 were still in windows. On my machine, WMP10 files had a modified date of 1/25/05.

I did a search in windows (you need to get the cache also) and deleted all those files. If you want to make sure, hold your mouse over each file and verify it says version 10.

Got a message that older files replaced some newer ones, which I ignored.

Reinstalled WMP9 and everything was fine.
