can't play hdtv.xvid-fqm

I’ve read a lot of posts saying that if you have problems with FOM download a file with fqm instead but I’m having problems with one from fqm.

The full file name is veronica.mars.2.01.hdtv.xvid-fqm

I’ve tried renaming it to just Veronica
I’ve tried giving it extensions like .tar and .zip and then trying to extract it but the players and the unarchiving software all say it’s the wrong file type.
Any help anyone could give would be greatly appreciated, it took forever to download this file!

If you have all those little 18 little veronica.mars.s0208.hdtv.xvid-fqm.r00 etc files, delete the fqm from them, and then unzip/unstuff it. It should work after that.
