hi everyone! i am trying to watch the movie 8 Mile, almost every time i open it either explorer.exe or WMP crashes (or both). it is an XviD file (checked w/ Gspot codec info). when it finally does open, it plays fine, maybe a random crash here or there. i used to have divx, xvid, and nimo codecs installed seperately, and at that time the file opened just fine. because of overkill with codecs and some conflicts with other videos, i uninstalled them all and installed the k-lite standard codec pack with divx, xvid, ac3, etc. instead. now all my other vids work fine but 8 mile is acting up. huh suggestions?

winXP, media player 9, k-lite standard codec pack (v2.24). all vids courtesy K++ (and the fine folks that share, of course! ty!)

thanks in advance!

nm. i just uninstalled everything, flushed the registry, and reinstalled the divx and xvid codecs... it’s all good.
