guesttt Guest | I’m trying to copy a movie, but my drive isn’t reading the disc. What can I do to fix this?
Also, I burned some videos I had on my computer onto a DVD using Sonic MyDVD Studio 6.1. The type of DVD I’m using has been used before to burn movies and they play fine in my DVD player, but when I burned the videos using MyDVD, the disc won’t play. Can anyone who is familiar with this program help me out?

BigPussy Guest | Playing on ur PC DVD drive or standalone DVD player?

guesttt Guest | Both. If you’re referring to my first question, I was saying that my computer DVD drive isn’t reading the movie disc.

BigPussy Guest | That mean U’ll have 2 upgrade ur DVD drive firmware. Upgrading the drive firmware is not n easy task. If U do it wrong, the drive will ends up dead. The best way is 2 buy the very same sort of disc which U used b 4.(same brands)

guesttt Guest | I have been using the exact same blank DVDs to burn my movies. My problem is that the drive isn’t reading the actual movie, in order to rip and then burn it.

BigPussy Guest | In that case,ur Sonic MyDVD Studio 6.1.is unable 2 read the encryption of that particular DVD that U r trying rip....or I could b damn wrong since U didn’t mention that U wanna rip a movie from a DVD in ur 1st post. Honesty is the best policy. So s 2 speak..ur discretion Sucked!!!!

Marcus Aurelius Guest | If you have a VAIO do what I did give up using their site for update the software. After the last update for my Sonic from VAIO I lost both dvd burner and dvd rom drives.Asking a smart ass from Sony where can I get a firware for my burner Sony made by LiteOn I got a blah blah about checking Liteon site where the firmware for that model is not the same.Making a long story shorter use any software from this site work better than any Sonic. Install trial and Google for a serial. http://dvd-copy-software-review.toptenreviews.com/

guesttt Guest | I wasn’t trying to be discrete about anything.
But anyway, I’m not trying to use Sonic to copy the movie. I can’t get that far because my computer doesn’t even read the movie disc.

BigPussy Guest | OK Ok..what is the make/brand of ur dvd drive?
| |
| 17 Nov 2005 05:20 pm |
guesttt Guest | It’s a GSA 2166D, by LG

BigPussy Guest | Hmmm..it a USB 2.0 Super-Multi DVD±RW/RAM.The reason that the drive couldn’t read is b cause Sonic MyDVD Studio 6.1 r non compatible with LG. Now all U have 2 do is 2 get a Burning software called Nero. But U can dload Nero Info Tool 4 free. Read all about it. Here is the link.

Marcus Aurelius Guest | Poor tt have to ask you sooo many times to find out something. Anyway I don’t know how technical you are but this is easy to use: http://us.lgservice.com/gcsc/b2c/hpi/main Before you do that put a blank dvd in your burner and see if you get a message about it or if you can explore it as a blank dvd. Do the same with a cdr and if you get same message about a blank cd your burner is ok.With a blank dvd in your burner use any software you may have to check the burner: VSO Inspector and try to scan the dvd. If does not work try to update the firmware. Good Luck
