graywolf2004 Guest | If you are afraid of viruses, download the sources and compile MP4Cam2AVI yourself, it’s Open Source (with Delphi 6 or 7).

Sasha Guest | Graywolf I tried your program and it supposedly worked, but when I go to play the new avi file windows explorer shuts down along with WMP and I have to restart my computer. Is this a common problem?
| |
| 22 Jun 2007 03:17 am |
graywolf2004 Guest | No. it’s not a common problem. To find the reason, I need to know:
1. Your camera model (and the small sample if possible)
2. What version of WMP and what Windows
3. What codecs do you have in your system (DivX, XviD,
codec packs, etc.)

tine14 Guest | I have the Rad vid tools and have been trying to convert my .mov to .avi to no avail. It converts only 2 seconds of an originally 4 minute video. Any ideas?

msjd2u Guest | I purchased QuickTime Pro because I was told it WOULD convert my .MOV files to a format that I could use in Movie Maker. I don’t understand video lingo, such as compression formats and codecs. Can someone tell me exactly what I need to select when I make the conversion between .MOV and .AVI that Movie Maker will accept?
Thanks...

Alycia Guest | What is the rad tools???
| |
| 05 Jul 2007 04:03 am |
graywolf2004 Guest | RAD Tools is the freeware app, it converts mov to avi, but with video recompression only. Requires QuickTime.
MP4Cam2AVI does the same, but without video recompression (much faster) and doesn’t require QuickTime.

tally Guest | WOW - Looks like it should be called “Kodak Not-So-Easy-Share”!!! he he ..I crack myself up...
I have the same problem with my Panasonic Lumix. I downloaded Rad Tools per this forum and it did convert .mov to .avi - but only the audio came out. The video is just blank. I selected for the output to be .avi, checked the 'convert video' and 'convert audio' both. And thats all I did. Should I do more? Anyone seen this problem?

Kate_and_Baby_Bridgette Guest | Ah dear. It seems I must have done something wrong. First I downloaded the free trial of the river thingy video cleaner, and quicktime, but the dvds I created have no audio. So I downloaded mp4cam2avi v2.71, as well as MP4Cam2AVI_SRC_v2.71, AND ALL the stuff on FFDShow from that same website (because it said somewhere you need it), and the avi I created using that has audio, but no visual. I am not technically minded. I don’t know what I’m doing. I don’t even know the specs of my computer (it’s a brand new toshiba satellite laptop, with windows vista (whatever that is) and office 2007, everything is all new. If anyone knows what I’ve done wrong, please please tell me. I want to send the videos of my baby girl to my dad who lives in a different state. It’s his first grandchild and I didn’t own a video camera til recently, so all the videos I took were on my kodak easyshare dx7590. Please help me. Please.

Kevin R. Guest | I also have a kodak easy share camera.Had the same problem you all are having. But wait.In the kodac easy share software there is a place to edit and splice your videos. When you done editing and spliceing it gives you the option to save as an avi format. You only get two choices, mov,or avi.you can only convert if you make a change like trimming the begining or end or spliceing videos together. Its in the program. It tooks me awhile to figure this out.on the save as menu, click avi its the only other option.
