I just downloaded RAD tools and this tool is amazing. The download was fast and easy. I was able to convert my kodak video into avi instantly. Now I’m able to play and burn the file with Nero, WMP and MovieMaker.

Thanks guys, you’ve really saved the day. I don’t know why there is not much info on download.com for this file. It’s really a great program.

This tool is amazing. I just downloaded it and was able to convert my Kodak MOV. file to AVI. I can now view and edit it on WMP, Nero, and Windows MovieMaker.

I reasearched the user reviews on download.com and it’s very scant. This tool is a must. It’s a keeper

Hi!

I just wanted to write and say THANK YOU to graywolf2004! The program works great! And it’s much quicker than anything I’ve ever tried! Amazing!

I have a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3 but the cheap bastards over at Panasonic decided to not include any editing programs for the Quicktime movies this camera records. Annoying. I’m glad there are people like graywolf2004 out there though grin

Thanks everyone for your very helpful discussion. I had the same Kodak / Quicktime / .mov file problem and the RAD Video Tools download listed near the top of this discussion worked perfectly and quickly the first try - albeit that the video was a little jumpy compared to the original, but at least I can use it. Very grateful for your advice.

GrayWolf that was definitely awesome. I tried one of the other one’s first and got a trial version which gave me about half of the video i needed to use and i really only needed about two minutes of video anyway for a joke movie i was doing. anyway, the other shit wouldn’t convert the rest unless i paid 30/35 dollars. Your program was simple, very fast, and worked perfectly. The audio was slightly lower volume but it was still good. Thanks a million.

Thanks for feedback! People thanks is one of things keepeng me to continue supporting this project smiley

Small issue for MP4Cam2AVI.
For those who have Kodak C533 and maybe some other Kodak’s -
if MP4Cam2AVI doesn’t recognize video, adjust some settings:

Go to Settinhs -> MP4 trak ID -> AVI FourCC Map
In the cell for 'MP4 trak ID' and 'MJPEG'
add value 'mjpa' (so it will be 'jpeg mjpa')
It will be include in next release.

i found that the Radtools download worked fairly well. i’m having to convert using a separate program because i don’t have the usb cable to download it and i’m having to use the memory card slot thats on my Brother<-brand> printer to load it to the computer.

Charnevin wrote: I have Kodak DX6490 with mov files. I obtained Arc Soft Video Impression and it makes movies fine. It accepts mov files and I have made great movies music and all. Why don’t you look into it?

Hi Chaps,
I have to warn you. I’m also suffering from the same problem. My camera produces .mov files, so I purchased Arc Soft Video Impression 2.0, that’s supposed to edit them, however all works except for the original sound to the .mov file is lost after composing a film.
So be advised Arc Soft Video Impression 2.0 does not handle .mov sound well, the sound to my clips is lost ofter stitching them into a film.

btw My camera is a Nikon Coolpic 7900, and the cheap basterds over at Nikon didn’t provide any video edition software, instead they advised me to purchase my own software.

If MOV files are from photo-camera, MP4Cam2AVI is the fastest way (cause it doesn’t reencode video).
To convert “general” quicktime files download SUPER and convert them to anything you want:
http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_encoders/super.cfm

Both tools are freeware.

Okay, uh, have the same problem. Have a Kodak Camera and try to edit it with Windos Movie Maker and some others. Didn’t work.
The tips here are nice, but I would like to know if there is any risk of viruses on any of these free download programs?
(Is not my PC that I’m working with right now, so it would be nice to keep it virus free. =) )
