maxjet38 Guest | The RAD video tools worked great to convert my .mov movie files (Nikon Camera) to .AVI. The only drawback is that a 14mb file became a 128 mb file after conversion. I wish the program had a compression ratio reducer option prior to converting. Oh well.....I wonder if I buy the quick time premiere, would it have the same effect, anyone know?

Willibald Guest | I also have the same problem to convert .mov into something acceptable for Windows Movie Maker or Pinacle Studio. My experience with Bink and Smacker is that it does not work, obviously because the .avi file size (after conversion) is limited to 2 GB, which is much too small for me.
Is there anybody who can help a beginner in this jungle?
Thank you! | |

Rodent Guest | Allok MOV Converter is the best I have found. It can convert from MOV to almost anything, even DIVX, which saves space.

stan Guest | as a “freeware” cynic i was sceptical about graywolfs (and evryone else’s for that matter)claims concerning their various solutions...by the time i got to the 8th page i had to admit that by far the most recommended link was to graywolfs converter so i took a chance and downloaded it....best thing i ever did online....5 minutes to get it up and running and 3 mouse clicks to run my sample MOV clip in windows media player....grief over....enough said! cheers graywolf i owe you one mate.

graywolf2004 Guest | Hi all, I didn’t watch this thread for a long time
I’ve uploaded new version of MP4Cam2AVI - 2.51
- The main feature for MJPEG MOV’s is the ability to convert
to XviD MPEG-4 in one click (direct stream conversion is also possible).
- There is an internal preview and a simple timeline for basic editing.
But be careful, it’s a Beta yet, these new features are not tested enough.
Also, there is an updated manual at
http://mp4cam2avi.sourceforge.net

AgentK Guest | I have a Kodak C433.
Use the Kodak Easyshare program!!!
It’s free and definitely safe. I can’t understand why we should download third-party software when Kodak provides it.
Drag the video into the picture tray and open it.
Then save click on “save as” at the bottom and choose .avi as the format. Make sure that you manually type ".avi” in the “file name” also. Kodak Eastshare support .mov and .avi; Windows Movie Maker supports .avi.

AgentK Guest | OK, sorry folks!
Kodak Easyshare software automatically commpresses the .mov file by >70% when it’s converted into .avi. I have to say that RAD Video Tools is better.

Tim Wright Guest | Hello,
I’m trying to convert a DVD to the Kodak MOV format so it will playback on my Kodak C663 photo camera. It’s a cheap Video iPod idea. I hear you guys are the experts.
Could you help me? Thanks in advance for looking at this.
Here are the specs of a Kodak MOV video file:
Movie info from Quicktime Pro:
Apple Quick Time encoded with MPG4
320 X 240, mulaw 16kHz mono audio
24 FPS
Gspot however adds some complexity:
P-VOP frames detected
Key “I” frames at every 24 frames and the rest of the frames are “P” frames.
Also I read that QT pro can’t encode ASP (advances standard profile) MP4 only SP MPG4. My problem could be that I need to encode ASP MPG4.
Any Ideas? Any converters out there?
You can email me direct at “tim at gonss dot com”.
I have a short example kodak video if anyone would like to examine it.
Thanks so much!

phag58 Guest | I am having some of the same problems. Recently bought a new Kodak Easy Share camera and a new HP media center computer with movie maker 2 installed. I came here, read how to convert files, download the rad tools. Worked great on the first few clips and started them in my movie process, but then I converted one that went black/purple and messed up audio. I then tried another couple of clips and they converted but with only the first 2 seconds of video..the rest wasn’t on there! Am I doing something wrong. I noticed these things are saving in big GB as well...is there a way to get smaller size so as not to crowd my hard drive? Any help would be appreciated as I’m really wanting to get my Christmas clips on DVD!!
Thanks | |

MoviePhile Guest | To Tim Wright
A program called MPEG Streamclip could be what you need to convert your file.
It is PC or Apple compatible. Read the blurb on the following URL to see if it is what you’re after
<http://www.squared5.com/>
Are you running on a Windows or Mac platform? If on Apple I could also suggest a couple of other options for you too - try a program called “Handbrake”. Or another called “iSquint”. Theres also another called “No frills DVD to iPod” . Havent tried the last one but it seems to be very very good according to the blurb.
Post back to this forum if you have any success with any of these ideas. Its always great hearing from people who have had success.
Hope this helps
Kind wishes. Good luck

Try this. It converts mostly all popular video formats including .mov. Serial number is included so that you can use this software without limits.
P.S. Who said sharing is illegal?
