hansewu Guest | Total video converter supports mov importing internally very well, you do not need installing quicktime or correspond software.

video_chic Guest | I’ll have to check a couple of those out. My company just passed a policy the other day saying we can only post movies that will work with Windows Media Player or Real Media. Are there any converters out there that will convert mov files to formats that will play on both of those?
Also, does anyone know if RAD video tools can be used on a Mac? I found a PC version, which works great when I’m on a PC at work, but I just have the Mac at home, and I can’t find a version of RAD for Mac.

video_chic Guest | Anyone got any thoughts on Front End Convert Drop? I’ve been using it a few times, and it seems to be ok, but I never hear it mentioned anywhere. It doesn’t have many options on it though.
Irish (I think we talked about this before) I’ve tried ffmegx, and when I tried to play the file I converted with it on my PC at work (which is brand new), I got an error message, saying I was missing a codec. And I’m worried other PC users will have the same problem as me.

Irish Nerd Club Guest | try using reelbean its free and exports to realmedia. All computers with realplayer can read that

UroSanDiego Guest | USING *SWF* INSTEAD?
I know someone who put several video clips on his website as SWF clips as suggested above, and it used up all of his bandwidth rapidly. Is this really a feasible option?
Thanks! | |

Irish Nerd Club Guest | well SWF (if properly formatted)only uses the same space/bandwith as a .mov file, it was nothing to do with the swf file, it was the lack of bandwith to begin with

RyanK Guest | I really want one that works with a Kodak Easyshare 4.0. I don’t know the model right now because it got confiscated from the principal... it has 640x480 with good frame rate, and sometimes it works on the Easyshare Software, and sometimes it don’t. Right now the file i did convert to avi suck! well, is there one around $20.00 or lower... better yet, a free one?

video_chic Guest | If only I could use reel bean! I downloaded it today (got sidetracked with other things and kept putting it off) just to find out it now only runs on OS X 4 or higher. I’m still on OS X 3.9 at home and even lower at work. It probably would have been perfect, too!

Irish Nerd Club Guest | avi to mov on windows can be done by ulead videostudio (its not free) or quicktime pro (not free but cheaper and better than ulead), on a mac use reelbean, ffmpegx or quicktime pro

Dani Guest | I checked to make sure that QuickTime 7 is okay to use with Windows Me, but does anyone know if the QuickTime Pro 7 upgrade is compatible? It says that it requires XP or 2000, but has anyone used it with Windows Me? Does it work?
| 09 Feb 2006 06:11 am |
Irish Nerd Club Guest | it wont, apple software checks your os version on install also windows me would be very slow at video encoding anyway
| 09 Feb 2006 01:19 pm |
Dani Guest | Thank you Irish. I spent hours downloading QuickTime 7, then on installation it checked and said it couldn’t install because I didn’t have XP or 2000. The online manual said that it was conpatible with Windows Me, but it wasn’t. I have QuickTime 6.4 already. I was wondering if QuickTime 6 Pro can convert the .mov files.
