second movie won't play decently...

question people:
if i play a movie (xvid/divx, anything basically) in windows media player and try to play another one after that, the picture frames appear in slowmotion. the sound still goes on fine, but it’s not watchable anymore obviously. this continues until i reboot my pc, but if i need to reboot between every two discs of a movie, i’ll go crazy. anyone any suggestions to solve this?
