Then, you can multiplex (join) all those elements together with VirtualDubMOD.

well, q-ball i’d like your help on this one. i’m new to this muxing-stuff, so please bare with me.
i managed to extract something out of an mkv-file using mkvtoolnix but the files i get when the extraction is complete have an extension that aren’t recognized neither by virtualdubmod or anything...what am i doing wrong?

i’d be glad to hear from u soon. or from anyone else who can provide some help.

thx in advance!

Hey guys I want to convert mkv to avi as well just because I like .avi files more, but if someone just wants to play the movie on their computer, just download VLC player from http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ and this player can play .mkv files.

VLC comes with many codecs and will play a lot of formats, its a very good and simple media player.

Hey guys....I read through this whole post and I think you are all giving yourselves an undue headache. I just downloaded all 26 episodes of The Big O in .mkv format. and guess what? VLC Media Player plays them all PERFECTLY. So why not just save some headache and download VLC media player? Maybe it’s just me I don’t know....But VLC will play just about anything.

Hi guys,

I have been reading through the posts here and am having the same prolem as the last few i think.

Basically i used the MKVExtractGUI to extract the Audio/Video files, that works fine with no probs. It’s when i get to the re-compiling stage with VirtualDubMod, it cant recognise the file type of the video and wont load it.

If someone could post with a resolution it would be great.

Thanks

For playing .mkv try CCCP pack, it comes with all codecs and Media Player Classic. Highly appreciated it after getting into anime and all formats, so far no problem.

I need help with VirtualDubMOD. I have extracted the video and audio files from a .mkv file as you suggested using MKVextractGUI. But I don’t see how to re-integrate them using VirtualDubMOD. it does not recognize either the video track '..._Track1.h264' or the audio track '..._Track2.dts' created by MKVextractGUI.

I appreciate your help.
