file open error

hi guys,

this problem just happened today for some unknown reason. windows media player 9 on winxppro won’t play my mp3s! or any other audio file. it displays the cannot open your file it might be corrupted or the file name’s incorrect.
i’m sure the location is right (i used the file open menu) and they’re certainly not corrupted since they play in winamp.

so is there any way maybe i can reinstall WMP9? i tried the installer i used to install it but the setup stops at 70% and says it couldn’t finish. or is there a way to uninstall WMP9 completely so i can do a fresh install?

Best option is to open your mp3s using winamp, www.winamp.com, thats what i use, it works great, even has more custom skinz than media player...
