need codec bad!!!

alright, so i downloaded a movie off a friend, but i try playing it on my DivX player and my Windows media player and its GREAT! everything works fine but it says it needs a codec that i dont have. I’ve been looking everywhere and nothing works, please help me, it says at the bottom “error downloading codec” and it says this as an error: “An audio codec is needed to play this file. To determine if this codec is available to download from the Web, click Web Help." I click on Web Help and windows media player tells me they got nothing, please help, thank you.

Go to this : http://www.free-codecs.com/ Download and install AC3 filter, VLC, BSplayer, Media CLassic Player and try your file with any of these players.To find out more about your file download GSpot and Avicodec and if you open the file with any of these analisers you’re going to find out details about your file and codecs you may need to play it right.A basic codecs collection is All in One or XP Codecs, DivX and Xvid.
