I’ve been having problems playing a video file with SFM in its title, what codec should I be using, this is really frustrating!

Regular Rep: 6 Joined: 20 Nov 2004 Posts: 1,286 | I don’t know of any codec named SFM. It’s common for files on file sharing networks to have the name of the release group in the file name (that’s what I suspect SFM is in this case), and this has little or nothing to do with codecs. If you’re having difficulty playing back your video file(s), I suggest feeding them into a diagnostic utility such as avicodec (http://avicodec.duby.info), gspot (http://www.headbands.com/gspot), or videoinspector (http://www.kcsoftwares.com/index.php?vtb) to find out which codec(s) you’re missing. | |

Entree Rep: 0 Joined: 06 Aug 2006 Posts: 1 OFFLINE | i too have a movie that ends in DVDRip.DivX-SFM. i tried those programs and they said that i have the codecs needed, but the movie is playing slightly sped up. is there a way for me to slow it down? | |

someone random Guest | Hey I have a short video that ends with .sfm
Does anyone know what that is? Because I can’t view it with Windows Media Player but it does work on my music player device. THNX | |

u-T Guest | i had the same problem, then i figured i had divx installed on 1 drive and windows including media player on another drive, so i installed div x again on the same drive as media player wich didn’t work.
im just tellin u this in case its part of the solution but then i tried to just open the files with divx player wich does work perfectly (for me that is)
