Is there a codec to enable .mtv file viewing on windows?

I bought this MP4 player that plays mtv video files. The thing is I accidentally deleted the avi file that i originally transferred it from.
I want to watch this movie on a big screen. Is there either a converter that changes .mtv to .avi? or is there a codec or a media player that supports .mtv files? I sure can’t find any.
