When you get an SD card for the PMP, is it as simple as putting it in? Will the be any formatting that I have to do??

Finn:
Using the SD card is simple; however, be aware that you can only use either the SD card or the built-in memory. By default, the PMP player will assume — every time you turn it on — that you want to use the SD card if you have one plugged in. If you want to use base memory, than you’ll have to go to the settings and change it. Given that you’ve got a 1gig SD card, this probably won’t bother you.

Remember, of course (duh), to have your PMP turned off when inserting or removing the SD card. I know you know that.

hello guys!

i’ve gotten a “digiboy DMC300F” PMP over ebay, it was working great until i tried to dump some files on there through USB, it now doesn’t turn on!! i see plenty of people with the same problem after flashing their PMP... is it possible i inadvertedly flash-killed my PMP?? i noticed as i was transferring info to the unit, that it was not displaying the normal “PC mode” connection screen on the LCD display, it was in the regular menu.. so i was surprised Windows XP could 'see' it and copy to it.
Alas, now it won’t turn on and the guys i bought it off aren’t replying to my emails yet! they said 1yr manufacturers warranty but i can’t find for sure who made the damned thing!

i put heaps of stuff on it...just to see what would work and what wouldn’t. i put a bunch of mp3s, i put a converted and an unconverted movie file. umm.. i may have thrown on some pics too and some other rubbish. but as i said, the PMP lcd screen, although connected to the usb, didn’t show up as 'connected' and windows happily dumped stuff to it. a few minutes prior i was having the opposite problem of the PMP saying it was connected but windows not seeing it. i have win XP prof, and i installed the drivers and transcoding tool that came on the CD.i’ve fired off another email to the seller in hongkong but still no reply.. :-(

this used to be common among JXD players, its the flash that was loaded to the pmp, when you plugged it in it switched to storage mode but when you write files the hex assignments are wrong and the files become corrupt, try plugging in the ac adapeter, pressing the reset button, switch on and then it should reset flash files, if it still doesnt switch on your player is now an expensive paperweight
