Hey, as the subject states, i’m having trouble playing back my video files, this doesn’t limit to just divx or xvid, also my wmv and mkv files seem to have this.

When i play a file the screen is greenish and it looks like it was partially inverted or the brightness and contrast are completely off the scale.

I haven’t had any devilish codec packs installed and ffdshow is handling my playback mostly.

In Gspot it shows the correct codec for playing.

Now for a bit of added weirdness, if i use the -exact- same codec in VirtualDub (not really a player, but i was curious), some files are just fine.

I’ve had this problem for quite a while now and i’ve run out of ideas.

I have the same problem. I had it on my last install of XP and it seemed to resolve itself!
This time however I cannot get the right colours. If I have any success I’ll contact you again.
I use ACE mega codecs.

I don’t get it, what player are you using? It’s a fix from Microcheap for WMP try it won’t hurt but VLC BSplayer and Media Classic work better and all are freewares: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;895181
