avi to a regular CD R data disc

If I burned an avi file to a regular CD R data disc would I be able to take that CD and play it on another computer without it loosing its quality?

The other computer should have no problems playing the avi provided it has the correct codec and is sufficiently powerful (this is if the codec is processor-intensive).
