Arjen Guest | I have a few movies in avi format. I have a DivX supported Media Player(K-Lite). I wanted to burn these to DVD+R’s. Would I have to change the formats or could I just burn the avi’s as data on the dvd’s and still watch them?

xXBOWLDAYXx Guest | As far as floppy disks are concerned you in the dark ages. Depending on your operating system newer ones all you have to do is drag and drop(READ UP ON IT). And also ead threads and search try diff. thing all DVD players support some type of media thats out there also try the site that made the the DVD player for supported media types, as far as burning w/comp to play on them there are tons of free programs to do it step by step.READ THREADS PLZ!!!!!!!!

I was woundering if this would be fix with a converter and if so, what converter would be the best?
P.S.- It is on;y a problem when there are subtitle, burned avi movie work perfectly.

2 fatfinger.. U can’t play avi files in dvd players unless they r equipped with divx or xvid.
So..fatfinger,pls don’t mislead some stupid fools thinking that their standalone dvd player could play avi files without the encoder.
Actually i have a dvd player that doesnt have either of those and it plays avi perfect. It pops up in the corner saying avi file and plays but then again like fat finger said newer dvd players, like 2004-5

Fromthewild Guest | Three options:
1) if you want to watch a movie on your PC and the movie file is in AVI,XAVI,DIVX then the only thing you “MAY” have to do is download a codec or player. This option is the simplist because it only requires you to download something to play your file.
2)if you want to convert a movie file to burn it on DVD or CD then you need a converter. Most of us convert from AVI to MPEG beacuse it’s easier to edit or copy the file .. MPEG is the ideal format if you want to burn a movie on DVD or a CD.
3)if you want to watch the movie file on your TV via your DVD player then my suugestion is to invest 40 dollars or so in a new DVD player that can read multiple formats including AVI,XAVI...
Burn the movie as data on your CD/DVD and your DVD player will play the file. Also the newer DVD’s have memory (stick) drives ... the quality is virtually the same

Right, your sonic will only burn ISO files, you need DVD santa, download it on limewire or imesh, or if your programme you use already downloads programs.
