Ok for once and for all can someone help me play to burn .avi TV shows that I have on my harddrive. I have tried several different programs with no success. I have tried converting to mpeg2 and svcd, and still no success. This best I can do is a final copy with crappy looking video and a 4 second sound delay when I burnt the aavi file as a vcd. I can burn .avi movies to dvd with success. But for some odd reason I tried burning my 45min tv show the same manner as the movie and the final copy had no sound at all.
I have roxio media 7.5, Nero Ultra, Winavi convert, Blaze Media Pro, and a few other programs.
What am I doing wrong??!?!?!
Thanks so much for your help!!!
Dennis

mickey Guest | I’ve got some avi files i wanna put on a cd-r and i’ve been using the standard windows cd-writer which seems to work fine, except when it comes to the end of the video clip on play back from the cd-r. Its freezes regularly and then resets back to the beginning, it doesn’t seem to make any difference as to which media player i use either. The disks i use aren’t dirty and have no apparant damage, so im slightly confused!

Azrael Guest | I have Nero 6.6,DVDSanta 4.0,and WinAVI Video Converter 7...What should be my best method of turning AVI files into DVD files playable in an NTSC DVD Player,PS2,etc.? I plan to get some DVD-RW’s so I am not throwing money out the window but I am still fairly new to all of this and I would like to be assured success for once. I recently learned to burn ISO files as well as BIN/CUE files so I am not a complete idiot when it comes to burning discs. I don’t understand why Nero has to be such assholes about all of this. So please someone help me find the simplest method of getting through this dilemma...THANX!

Debbie Guest | For all you people out there wondering how to make a dvd play in your dvd player.
Ok here we go..........................
1. Download an avi file, If you download and mpg file no need to convert just burn, as long as your dvd player is mpg,mp3, etc format it will play.
2. Use Winavi to convert that avi to MPEG1 format, first open Winavi and click on DVD choose your file and under output format choose MPEG1 and hit advance, Don’t tocuh anything else but the width and height of the file make the width 352 and the height 240 this is the standard format, anything less that that will give you too big of a picture or none at all so dont tocuh those settings it could even cut the screen if half (Never Mind you’ll see if you screw up). Next hit ok and thats it wait for it to convert, make sure you know where the file is going usually in C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Temp , It might not be in the same folder. You will not see this unless you coose to view hidden files and folders in oyue options tab when in any folder click on Tools tab/folder options/ view tab/scroll down and select show hidden files and folders also while in there unselect hide extensions for known file types, you’ll be able to see the file extesion which is the whole file name all together. You can do all this while your waiting for it to convert.
Back to Waiting, once its done it will say file is done converting hit ok to back to the main interface then get out of winavi all together, open NTI CD & DVD MAKER PLANTINUM 6.5 , I dont like NERO and NTI is so much better. easier, simpler and so much more user friendly. You can try Nero it might work if you use these directions I dont know. Anyway, Once you open up NTI CD MAKER click on VIDEO, click on VIDEO CD and at the top clcik on add, look for and choose your file you want to burn and add it then hit that RED button to burn. It takes a good 10 Min to burn if that. Your done your CD will pop out when done burning and you can now pop it in your DVD Player,,,,,,,,,

chris111690 Guest | yes you can! but if u burn it to dvd (still as a .avi) you cant play it in a dvd player(YOU CAN DO THIS WITH A SHAREWARE PROGRAM: FROM WWW.VSO-SOFTWARE.COM) but you want to burn it to play in a dvd player you can use WINAVI 7.1 at www.winavi.com it is the BEST!!!!! product out there the conversion is so fast!!!!! and it can burn it with that program to and that is also fast!!!!
*******WINAVI 7.1 burns to .VOB not MPEG******
So i bet that helps alot of people!!! :-)
