qpowoir Guest | ok. so this is as straight as i can put this. can someone who isnt a complete idiot give me a stright answer.
given a completely unenlightened DVD player, that plays DVD’s like they’re bought in the shop(and plays DVD’s burned to 4.7GB dvd’s with DVD shrink), is there a way of decoding a 700MB divx movie and encoding it in a way that a DVD player will play it?

Flyer Guest | I’d the same problems - loads of .AVI movies which were only viewable on my PC. - I’ve tried to connect the PC to my TV - but I never could make it work. - Then one day I happen to read an article about LaCie Silverscreen - I’ve bought the device (40Gb) and all my problems are solved now. I copy the movies from my PC to LaCie Silverscreen - then connect the device to my TV and - lookie!!! — I can watch the movies on TV instead —

TopsyTurvy Guest | Instead of wasting cashs on lacie silverscreen..why not just buy a dvd player equipped with divx/xvid n burn the avi files that can b fitted on a 80 mins cdr s a data cd. The best is on a cd-rw. U can buy the dvd player @ walmart 4 just 40 dollar.

Mal Guest | I have read with interest the many items thus far with great interest - wanting to do much of what has been asked. Today I have come across what seems to be an answer to many requests - avi to dvd and most other formats to dvd. Not tried it yet, but it sounds good.
AVI DivX to DVD SVCD VCD Converter from Aone software, http://www.aone-soft.com: - avi_divx2dvd.exe, available from

dsc04 Guest | Vaiya, okay I have question about DVD santa that maybe you know. The other day I downloaded the DVD santa trial version just to see if it worked. When it was ready to burn my movie a message came up and say that DEMO would be on the screen of the movie until i purchased the full version of DVD santa. When I played the movie in my Home DVD player, I could hear the movies but could not see it all that was on the screen was “www.DVDSanta.com” BUT I could hear the movie. Is that the way the Demo is suspose to be or is there something else I need in order to burn movies?

debbie Guest | when you download ana vi file do this also download divx player then you can watch your avi files on the computer, if you want to watch tehm on the tv such as using a dvd player do this
1. download winavi video converter its not free
2. open winavi and choose on the main screen dvd then choose the file you want to convert
3. for the settings click on mpeg2 and hit advanced button
4. change the width of the screen to 352 and the height to 240 dont touch anything else hit ok or whatever it says and thats it dont preview it becasue it takes longer to convert it.
once converted open your burning software and burn the mpeg file to a cd good luck if you need help email me at deb0729@comcast.net
