I downloaded something on LimeWire and when it tried to play it said it doesn’t support the codec. I tried RealPlayer and it said the same thing I can hear it but I can’t see it. What program should I use to play it, It’s DotHack.AVI

Forget encoding to DVD. Just save hours by buying a DVD player w/divx. Toshiba model SD-K850 (HDMI with upconversion to 1080i) goes for $80 at Costco. Non-HD hookup model goes for $50.

Just burn .avi files to DVD media, put in player, hit play. Watching on my TVin minutes, versus hours of encoding.

I have AVI video files that I want to burm to a CD-R 700MB CD.Every time I attempt to burn the movie, all of my programs tell me I cannot syncronize an AVI file. So I downloaded a Conveter from DivX and when I convert them, it still cannot syncronize them to a CD. I need to get them off my computer and fast because they are taking up too much memory! If you can help me, reply As Soon As Possible!
Thanks,

You guys are all nOObs in DVD burning. You cant just burn any file to a DVD and expect it to play in a DVD-Player. You first need to convert the movie file into a format readable to the DVD. There are such things called “SOFTWARE” if you dont know. I use Alcohol 120%, Nero 7, Easy Creator 8, DVD Shrink......Lots more and of course all cracked!! These are the good softwares>> Hope this helps. Now all i need is someone to help me - LOL

DOC HOLIDAY, you know the funny thing is that no body in the forum asked about rippng dvds . The forum is about converting avi file to play in a stand alone dvd player... On either a dvd or a cd ,, ie svcd or vcd .. but were all noobs right. So next time instead of naming off every software for burning dvds mabey you should read the forum first .. noob .. any way if you want to burn an avi file to cd it is pretty simple use nero or whatever will burn svcd . If you want to put an avi file to dvd you will need to comvert it to dvd format.. it will uncompress the avi file and make it ready to burn to a dvd if i download an avi file i put it to svcd . i dont download any thing else than avi files to save space on my hdd my xbox media center will play svcd so no need to convert to dvd unless i really want a dvd of the avi file then i have to convert it to dvd format , vob. Say if i want to make a movie for a friend that only has a dvd player.. take a look at dvd santa i havent messed wit it yet but it looks pretty easy to use and you can find it on bittorrent sites.. probley lime wire and bearshare too.

now i have 22 episodes of something in avi format and ive used nero 6.6.x.x. and ive wasted 9 dvds and 12 hours...and no matter what i did, it says “No disc” in my dvd player.. i have no clue what i’m doing wrong..ive used cucisoft avi converter,a nd converted avi to mpeg and still doesnt work..does anyone have any idea what to do? i wanna get this 8 gigs of stuff off my computer for the space..
anyone have a nero how-to, or tutorial.. i swear i’m doing things as ive done before.. but it just not working, any help would be appreciated ..

you need to convert the mpeg files to vts files for dvd cucisoft makes a program that can do it i have found that the best way of doing things is to download the full dvd files instead of the avi.avi it takes to long to convert and the quilty is not as good or get a big ass hard drive and a video card with tv out and run your avis on your tv
