Hi, I need some help, I tried playing an rmvb file with media classic, but as soon as I opened the file there was an error message saying 'media classic has encountered an unexpected error and needs to close'. In fact, whenever I try using media classic to play any video file the same thing happens. Anyone knows what is the matter? Thanks in advance for any help!

Get realalt129. It contains media player classic (321) plus the codec needed to play .rmvb. I’ve never had a problem with it. Droc71, it’s easy to play .rmvb with real alternative (realalt). Maybe easier than playing DivX because I suspect you don’t have need or have or update DirectX.

My big objection to the .rmvb format is that it takes too long to process. A 3 hour movie took 44 hours to process with AutoRV9! And I have a 2MHz CPU. Don’t know if AutoRV10 is faster 'cause I can’t find all the components to make it work for me. But I doubt if it could be that much faster.

The reason people use the
RMVB compression is because it is currently better than the rest in my opinion. I’ve been enjoying full length near DVD quality movies with a total size of 300 meg and sometimes less.

i know that RMVB stand for Real Media Variable Bitrate
and RM for Real Media (its constant bitrate)

then whats the mainly difference between RMVB and RM (not the one that rm its CBR and RMVB its VBR)
since the quality/bitrate of the same file encoded with rm and rmvb its the same everything seems to be the same then whats the difference its just cuz rmvb sounds cool? (lol that was lame)

First : Download and install Real Alternative (you will need the codecs)

Second: Download and install Radlight Player

Watch the movie using Radlight and loading subtitles as you want
