Maan! You are great, i downloaded a movie and it did not have a picture in it, just sound. i tried all those codecs ff, and whatever and stuff, but to know avail. i was downloading a movie for 4 hours!! i was desperate!! and when i thought about deleting this file, comes this idea with vlc player!! Jeez! it is great it is the best player ever, thanks a lot for pointing me in the right direction!!!!!

topcat139 Guest | DX50 is Divx. Just go and dl the Divx Play bundle, load just the codec not the other stuff. FFdshow is the neatest and simplest way to go though. If you’ve loaded it and still can’t play divx vids, ... well, make sure you have the divx codec checked, and also, the issue may very well be that you have another codec that is stealing the focus from FFdshow when the system is looking for a codec to decode the dx50 file type. Use Radlight Filter Manger, it’ll let you adjust, register, and unreg the codecs. Use it, check to see if perhaps, xvid, or another codec is in contention with FFdshow. There are many codecs that claim to be able to decode divx streams, but kinda screw it up. You need to certain that the other codecs have a lower priority setting than FFdshow or it won’t get called.
Normal priority is 6000, you can use 6001 or even 7000/1 anything above that usually will not let other codecs be pulled into the filter chain.
Windows uses these settings to know in what order it should try the codecs in. When it hits one that works, or not, that’s the one it uses. So check what filters you installed, and check their priorities.

There are versions for almost any OS as well
