jaytee Guest | Why won’t my computer let me play any of the AVI files i download for smallville? I have all the codecs i need( i think) and avi files won’t work. I have to find avi files and play them in quicktime to watch the episodes, which are hard to find.

Pablos30 Guest | I had the same problem with a Threshold XVID-fov.avi file. Took me some time but I downloaded the DivX codec v6.0.3 for Windows XP/2000 from http://www.divxmovies.com/codec/
Played it through the DIVX player and it all works. Hope this helps.

vw_bugg Guest | celtic druid binary codecs works. Downloaded the less than 300k file, instaled it and now Windows Media Player will play the xvid Fov file perfectly.

Hope that helps.
Merry Xmas to all!

Gary Guest | I downloaded every single episode from Star Trek TNG and Voyager. They were all xvid and most xvid-fov.
I tried for months to convert them using various programmes and they refused to work. I am not kidding, 3 months spent on these files.
NEVER toucj anythihg with fov in.
I got some other Start Trek files from Niteshadows site and they are fine.

Boristhemoggy Guest | I downloaded every single episode of Star Trek, original, next generation and voyager.
After converting about half of them and burning to DVD I found I couldn’t do the rest. I kept the original files on DVD’s and 1 year later they still won’t work, despite me now understanding what I am doing.
The most likely culprit? FOV
NEVER download anything done by them as you are asking for trouble.
I have since downloaded every version all over again and they have been successfuly converted .
Avoid FOV at all costs or you are going to spend an awful lot of wasted time and frustration.

cokeman Guest | The xvid-fov.avi files are funny. I downloaded some for House M.D. and they played fine on the harddrive. But when I burn them to a data disc style DVD, they wont play in Media player. I can play them on my Dixv player, but the computer wont play them. The orignal download will play , not the burned one. go figure!

Jas Guest | I realise this post is old, but didn’t really answer my question. So here is the answer now I have it.... update your rar software. Stuffitexpander for Mac for example won’t uncompress the whole fov set.Current versions of UnrarX/Winrar did however (and automatically created a watchable AVI file.
