So I downloaded one of my favorite old games, Messiah, through a torrent and I got a folder with a big file that I mounted to Alchohol that was a .MDF file and I started playing. Well... it worked but it said the CD sound didn’t work, and there was no sound at all. Is this what the tiny .mds file is before? What do I do with them?

MDF and MDS are like cue and bin files but for Alcohol 120%.If you want you can burn it on cd and install the game with or if you don’t want to burn it and use the virtual drive install it and after installation look for a no cd patch for your game on Google.Download it and extract it in the game folder and patch it.The software is going to think that you have a cd in your drive and you can play the game.Daemon Tools and Virtual Drive do the same think like Alcohol and even Nero has one.

Hi, I just downloaded a game as well and it comes in the form of .mdf files. It is supposed to work without a cd. Can someone tell me how to correctly mount the images using alcohol in order to get the game working..

simple really, open alcahol 120%, go into the file with the .mds file and drag it into the biggest window OR right click on the virtual drive and click mount image and find the image hehe, i figured it out by my self, why cant anyone else? smiley
