Kat Guest | I have the same problem - my divx player says that i need the MJPG codec to play the file - GSpot reports is as MJPG/xvid as well. I’ve tried codec packages and single updates, directx9 as well. Media player/QuickTime just gives a colour block when trying to run. I’m out of ideas!

Kat Guest | I had done all the above - googled my heart out! I’ve got the codec but all it’s doing is stopping my divx player showing the message - i just get a black screen, no play or sound. Could i have too many codecs installed? I heard it can mess it up a bit.

DrewEl Guest | oh yea by the way, once u install the movie will not play in DivX for some reason, you will see this pink lightning screen with the Movies audio only, so best to play in Winamp and windows media player cuz they work

Kat Guest | Yeah me too. I found an 'arrival' that was mpg and played ok - but all the files i can find for the second one - mpg, avi wont play. One has that darned mjpg codec (pegasus install just gave the coloured box - but with a pegasus heading written on it). The other ones dont give a 4cc in gspot (just says n/a) - but if you render them it says directshow 'says' it is playing them. These files will play blank no sound for about 10 seconds in divx or media player. Starting to think I’ll just have to wait till some kind soul puts up an old style one

DrewEl Guest | Whats the second? the Second epi of SMallville??
whats this gspot thing, everyone seems to have problems with it so why not scrap it?

guest 606 Guest | lol, this is funny... everyone’s trying to download and watch exactly the same thing... but I’m with all of you... for some reason, files I have been sent by friends (as it happens, smallville) aren’t playing- tried the pagasus thing too, now all I get is the colour bar with pagasus title...
Are there any players that specifically come with the codec already?

dudey2201 Guest | Hi everybody!
Seems that we have a lot of Smallville fans in here!
I have the same problem, Pegasus thing didn´t work for me. I even tried to turn the resolution down to 640*480... didn´t work.
Hope that soon someone is coming up with a solution to our problem!
hang in there! | |
