I have a DVD-disc full of video that was burned as “data” and it plays onto my VCD player. (Not the computer software, but an actual VCD player hooked on my tv.) [This video was bought on eBay]. Now, I tried to burn video files too as “data” on a blank DVD disc, but it doesn’t play on my VCD player. My question is, how do you burn a video as “data” onto a DVD-disc that can play onto VCD players? [oh, and by the way, the only burning software I have is Nero 6.] Please help. Thanks.

How do you know the dvd is burnt as a data? Data won’t play on any standalone player, better if you check. If you have some video file and want to put them on dvd, first find out with GSpot what type of files are and convert them to dvd format using any video converter you may have. Once the convertion is done you can burn the dvd. Here is a link with how to guides so read it and download what you need: http://www.afterdawn.com/index-menu.cfm

I say that the DVD is burned as data because when I put the DVD in my computer, I could open my dvd-drive and video files [.avi’s] show on the dvd-disc (as oppose to the “fancy” files the VCD and/or DVD movies have [.vob, .ifo, .bup, etc.]. Thanks for the input though. =)
