Try looking for a programme called “Avanced WMA workshop”- you can get a trial version free. Or use Something like Premiere/ movie maker?

Install the latest version of the Codecs Installation Package:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/format/codecdownload.aspx

Also, open TMPGEnc and go to Option>Environmental setting>VFAPI plug-in and give 'DirectShow Multimedia File Reader' a priority of 4.

hi, maybe you can get a trial version of WinAVI Video Converter to have a try! Actually, winavi can convert WMV file to many other format, such as mpg, avi, dvd, mov and so on. The converting speed is surprising fast while with stunny video and audio quality!
By the way, you can get the program from its web http://www.winavi.com/video-converter.htm

use WinAVI converter, its by far the fastest converter around and works with every format to every format provided you can play the file in windows media player (you need to have the right codecs) download a trial version then go to asta-la-vista.com and search for a serial number, theres one for 'alastair dalrymple' that works and gives you full access to all the programs features.
Happy Converting!

If you wanna convert WMV to MOV/AVI/DivX, etc...

Solution: ffmpegX
Price: $Free

Mac Users:
All you need is ffmpegX, which you can download from: http://homepage.mac.com/major4/

Windows Users:
Download ffmpeg. Do a google search for it.

Read the howto’s for info on converting different codecs. But it is relatively easy.

I have looked and looked for a simple way to convert WMV to MOV, DivX or other formats and this is the best way.

Good luck!

Dear Ultima 160:

I did everything you said. It seemed like it was working, but every time I pressed “encode”, it produced a file with 0 kb.

I tried converting .wmv to several types of .mov or .mpg.

Any tips? What am I doing wrong?
