all you have to do is go to windows update and download the new sound package. and if you download one which stops sound just roll back your driver .

1. i tried to chat on yahoo messenger ,web cam is working but voice comn is not possible .
2. my mic works in XP for voice recording but not on messenger
3. message displayed is- voice error, your computers sound mixer could not be initialised .

scubapro Guest | I have a problem with Yahoo voice, i can hear people fine but when i go to try and talk they are unable to hear what i am saying and i have tested my microphone and it is working fine, just not with messenger, anyone have the solution??

while sending messages i could not see and i could not receive them.But My brother is seing what i sent in chatt(he is in USA).
the same problem with voice.i could not hear,but he is hearing.
please help me I installed it and reoved so many times.virus scanned.ok

RealtekSux Guest | The Audio Mixer Could Not Initiate pop-up advisory mentioned above is an issue that is occuring with many different pc manufactures machines. The common thread will all I have found in my research is the Realtek sound card. My first encounter with the issue was with a Dell it was fixed by upgrading the sound card to one from another manufaturer. I have since encountered the same issues with several versions of Toshiba and Sony laptops. From what I read above the issue is the same with a few others. Tonight I attempted to load realtek’s newest drivers and the issue continued. Drivers 5.10.0.5127 / 5.10.0.5200 / and a new set of drivers from their “best” released today all had the same functional flaw. Assuming they are not complete idiots the cause may be that their sound environment is beyond what the voice chat providers deliver and there is no mechanism in realtek’s software to compensate (or derate) to address the lower sound quality transfers. I however believe the true issue is Realtek is buying OEM business solely on price and being allowed to get away with an infearior product because of the price race. Shame on Toshiba, Sony, Dell, HP and whoever else believes I will ever purchase another machine with a Realtek product in it.

Realtek woes Guest | I agree with the last comments about trying to use a realtek sound card with VOIP applications. I just bought a new computer and the sound quality is terrible when using these programs. I couldn’t use it all with the latest version of Yahoo Messenger.
I don’t know what I am going to do. Is it a case of having to get a new sound card installed?
