i feel so stupid for even asking this. after looking through the rest of the site i’m suprised that i know the answers to most of the inquiries presented but not this. after i unpack a rar or zip is it okay for me to delete to rar or zip file? i’m thinking that logically it is just a container but i don’t want to lose any information. thanks for your help. sorry for being so thoroughly clueless.

Once the file(s) is extracted, it is safe to delete the zips/rars afterwards. But make sure the extracted file is whole and not corrupted or incomplete. It would suck to have to go and download everything again. :P
